This historic event, a first in Pride history, will take placing on a moving float as it makes it’s way through Toronto’s 30th annual Pride Parade!

Guests were treated to a performance by the ever talented violinist Grenville Pinto, who can transform any, and yes I do mean ANY song (from Chris Brown to ACDC) into a work of art!  Designer Ines Di Santo  was on hand to showcase some of her stunning designs.

Our ever gracious honoree Ms. Grace Ormonde was on hand to sign copies over her beautiful new book “Being in love never goes out of style”, check it out you won’t be disappointed!

]]> http://divaweddingsandevents.com/blog/?feed=rss2&p=196 Utopia….mmm http://divaweddingsandevents.com/blog/?p=189 http://divaweddingsandevents.com/blog/?p=189#comments Fri, 04 Jun 2010 22:51:25 +0000 Jennifer http://divaweddingsandevents.com/blog/?p=189 On a recent shopping expedition with my sister, she introduced me to what I think could just be my new fave sweet treat!  Utopia, a frozen yoghurt chain from the states is essentially a small kiosk that offers 4 flavours of yoghurt (our visit offered plain, ferrero rocher, mango and taro) which you top with a variety of toppings to build your ultimate sweet treat.  It’s nothing fancy, the only thing gourmet is some of the flavours (they rotate on a frequent basis) the toppings are pretty run of the mill (chocolate chips, fruit, cookies, nuts, sauces etc.) but the beauty lies in the customability!  I know that’s not a word, but for someone who really doesn’t care for frozen treats this place has a soft spot in my heart!  In case anyone is in the mood for delivery, plain fro-y topped with crushed Oreo, cookie dough and strawberry sauce please!  PS-Did I mention you only pay for what you take?  They weigh your order after you create it, and the prices can’t be beat!  It’s going to be a hot summer folks, why not indulge in this sweet cool treat?  They’re addictive, don’t say I didn’t warn you!

Personally, I LOVE Grooms cakes, provided they’re done right!  If there is a part of your personality that everyone identifies with you, makes you unique or is something you’re a die hard fan of I say go for it!  That being said, I also think there is a time and place for Grooms cakes and that is on the late night table.  Bon Appétit!

Some of the highlights…

 

Dolce & Gabanna leopard chairs!  How can you not love them!  Our friends over at Designing Trendz had some stunning table set ups including this beauty, chocolate themed.  How luxurious! 

 

Strolling food stations are hot this year, and Catering Trendz is hot!  This dessert display features funnel cake fries with chocolate fondue, rice crispy sushi, mini dessert burgers and more.  Great for kids of all ages!

 

Speaking of kids of all ages, Tiny Tom donughts is now mobile!  You can have the crew come set up at your next event and have take home tiny’s for all your guests!

 

By Peter & Paul’s always has something to tantalize my taste buds, and this year….cheesecake pops!  Yum, they know a way to a girls heart!

 

Everyone knows how much I like pink and Indian themed, I might be borderline obsessed with pink Indian storyboards in fact.  Imagine my delight when I walked passed Nisha Chandra’s booth to find a Pink Indian décor setup, complete with drummers, pakoras and Lassi shooters (courtesy of Avani).  If this was just a taste of what she can do, I look forward to working with her.  Plus she has a pink business card, girl after my own heart! 

 

Sole Power Productions was showcasing an amazing dance troop, and mistakenly thought when I went to video their routine that I wanted to be a part of it!  Yikes!  They can provide your event with a vast array of performers from hip hop to samba and everything in between.

 

Frozen maple syrup on a stick!  Did anyone else do this in Quebec City?  The concept is simple, fresh boiling maple syrup poured over ice; the result is sweet, a chewy maple syrup sucker!  Interactive and Canadian!

 

There’s not enough room to detail everything, but trust me when I say this is one event I will be returning to every year!
